This is the new Family bundle of patterns from Made for Mermaids. It includes their first men’s pattern! The Dylan Tee and Men’s Dylan Tee is a tee, with color blocking on the sides. It includes short or long sleeves. The Vivienne and Mama Vivienne include top, tunic, mini, and dress lengths, and is a sleeveless bodice, with color blocking on the sides, and a gathered front and back skirt.

They are all quick sews. The Vivienne patterns are finished around the neck and arms with binding, and the neckline of the tee is finished with bands. There are optional side pockets on the Vivienne patterns that I did not add to any of mine, and I don’t know why, but I have the pattern cut out for one of my daughters, and I plan on adding that cute pocket to hers!

These photos are all the versions I made during testing. and I have another Mama Vivienne almost finished, and my daughter’s cut out that I will share soon!

And the big news is, that the patterns are available in a bundle of all 4 patterns, and it’s only $18!!!!! That is the biggest bundle discount they have ever done, 50% off, and the bundle option will only be available during the release sale, which means you need to get it before June 2nd! I think this is such a fun set, and my husband and brothers love when I sew for them, so I will be making lots of Dylan Tees for them!

All the fabric was from my stash, so I might not be able to list all of it! I remember the prints, but I think the grey solids were from the flat fold table at Hancock (still sad they closed ๐Ÿ˜ฆ ) And I am not sure on the content. They are very drapey, probably a rayon blend.

White floral: rayon spandex from Girl Charlee

Grey/white/blue long sleeve Dylan tee: completely up cycled from my husband’s old clothes.

Grey/navy stripes: cotton spandex from Raspberry Creek Fabrics

Vintage airplane side panel fabric: rib knit from a destash page

I have been sewing for summer for my kids lately, and I’m excited to share this maxi dress that I made from Made for Mermaid’s Sommer pattern! This also comes in tunic or dress length, but maxi usually wins when I give my kids a choice.

This is double brushed poly from So Sew English. I actually got it on accident in an order, and was missing a different cut, so I emailed, and offered to send it back, but they told me to keep it and rushed me my missing piece #customerservicegoals And it was fun to have extra fabric, but this is a color I would NEVER buy, or wear, so it went into my tub to sit and think about what it wanted to become. Now that I’ve made it up into this dress, I am so happy for the accident, because it is so beautiful! It’s good to be pushed out of your box every now and then ๐Ÿ™‚

This pattern has options for single or double straps, also, you can omit the ruffle, or just do it across the front of the bodice. The skirt can also be made from knit or woven. You will love this pattern for summer!

There are also Baby and Mama versions of the Sommer pattern, so if you want to match your babies, pick those up also! There are coupons that will work through Sunday, I’m not sure if the bundle discounts will work after that. The patterns are also on sale already with no codes needed.

Use buy2sommer for $3 off any two Sommer patterns, and buy3sommer for a $5 discount on all three patterns.

Made for Mermaids

I was getting reminiscent about P4P the other day when they hit a huge milestone in their Facebook group, and then today Made for Mermaids hit a huge milestone, and are celebrating with a sale too!! I still feel like a late-comer to the pdf pattern scene, but I guess I’ve been around for a couple years now, and it’s fun to look back. I was cutting a new pattern yesterday, and my daughter asked me what it was called, I asked her if she wanted to know the name of the pattern, or the brand, and she said both, so I told her the name, and said the brand is Made for Mermaids. “Oh,” she said, “I want you to make me something from Made for Mermaids!” Hahahaha, I have, just a few times ๐Ÿ˜‰

I can’t count the ways I have loved sewing with Made for Mermaids patterns. These are not even everything I’ve made, but some of the basics just get put in the closet. It’s a treat for my girls when they get clothes they don’t have to photograph ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

Go join their Facebook group to share in the fun!

And, take 30% off with code 30kmermaids and sew up some gorgeous, amazing clothes!

Sutton

This new pattern from Made for Mermaids has instantly jumped into the top of my favorite patterns ever list. I love the princess seams, the low back, and probably the gathered circle skirt the most!! My big girl has decided she will wear this too, which makes it even better! Otherwise, I was about to have to find some cute little babies to sew some for, because I just love it so much!

This was a joy to sew. Every now and then, there’s a pattern that just comes together so easily, and you know the outcome will be amazing, and it’s just a joy to sew! This is one of them!

I have only made the top version, with sleeves, for testing purposes, but I’m eager to make the full twirly skirt in dress length next!

Sutton has a top or dress length, elbow sleeves with a tie, or sleeveless options, and a button front bodice, with a placket. There are princess seams in the bodice, which is a great place to play with print or color blocking, or to add trims!

This pattern will be on sale through Sunday for $7.

This top is cute paired with several bottoms from Made for Mermaids as well, including Evie, Lucy, or Olivia! The Samantha Skirt is a great layering piece with the dress version, and it’s also on sale for $5 through Sunday!

The white version is the final version of the pattern. The changes that were made to the blue version include, top length shortened, width added to the sleeves, and the waist brought in.

I know this one will be a smash hit!

Sew, What Do I Wear?

dsc_1127-blogtoursneak

Here we are again with Made for Mermaids and Patterns for Pirates, bringing you inspiration for what to sew for Valentine’s Day! My husband and I don’t do much to celebrate this holiday, sometimes we’ll go out, but never on the actual day! ๐Ÿ˜‰ But my mom always left us gifts on the breakfast table on Valentine’s day, and I loved that little unexpected (even though she did it every year) gift. You’re still kind of coming off of the Christmas high, and at least I wasn’t looking forward to a birthday for several more months, so it always felt special. So I like to do the same thing for my kids. Having children makes things more magical, especially holidays. I love to make this one fun, just like the rest. So we usually bake and decorate sugar cookies, we also usually make lots of cards, and go crazy with the stickers and glitter.

I knew my Valentine’s attire would be casual, since I’m spending the day with my kids. I used Made for Mermaids Mama Ava since it’s the perfect silhouette to be comfy, but with gorgeous fabric, you don’t feel sloppy! I also wore the Peg Legs from Patterns for Pirates. I think these are one of the best beginner projects, and they give you such impressive results! (I was on day 2 of wearing these, so all I can see are the baggy knees, but they really fit so perfectly!)

dsc_0991-wmdsc_0999-wm

And then, because it’s fun, I put on a little more make up, some jeans and heels, and made it the perfect outfit for a casual dinner with my husband. That’s as fancy as we get anyway ๐Ÿ™‚

dsc_1069-wmdsc_1067-wm

My fabric for this shirt is double brushed poly, from Raspberry Creek Fabrics. I love the tighter pattern of the floral, sometimes when the floral is more in clumps, you have to worry about pattern placement more, but this one is so gorgeous, and I love the colors! My leggings were double brushed poly from So Sew English.

I think Valentine’s day is top of my favorite holiday list. I love every happy thing about it! I’m planning what to sew for my kids, and I’ll share that soon.

Please check out the other talented women joining this blog tour! There are some AHHH-MAZING looks. The links are below. Thankย  you Made for Mermaids and Patterns for Pirates for your perfect patterns, and this fun blog tour.

Cassie and Mama Cassie

dsc_0211-wm

I know, here we are again with the Mommy and Me, and I don’t ever want it to stop!! This is the new Cassie and Mama Cassie patterns from Made for Mermaids. The Cassie is a cold shoulder peplum or dress, with high/low skirt options, with short, 3/4, or long sleeves. It’s a half circle skirt, so it’s still twirly, but doesn’t take up nearly as much fabric as a circle skirt. My daughter has declared this her favorite dress ever, and wore it for 2 days straight, until I made her take it off, and then again to church on Sunday ๐Ÿ™‚

The Mama Cassie pattern has the same options, but it also includes a mini dress length, and an off the shoulder option. So on trend, and as has already been shown, on the M4M blog, and in their facebook group, there’s endless options for hacking the off the shoulder version to make it your own. There’s also a free hack pack that includes a flounce to add to your off the shoulder Cassie, or a fold over band.

This is for knit fabric, the girls pattern comes in sizes 1/2-14, and Mama Cassie is from XXS-Plus3X. The sizes are color-coded, though, so make sure you check your measurements. You’ll get a perfect fit that way!

dsc_0057-wmdsc_0111-wmdsc_0225-wm

I always love everything from Made for Mermaids. The patterns are so flattering on me. I hope you’ll check out all the other listing photos too, so you can see the off the shoulder tops!

The patterns are both on sale for $7 each, or you can buy them together in a bundle for $10. The bundle is only available during the release!

dsc_0090-wmdsc_0080-wmdsc_0135-wmdsc_0226-wmdsc_0063-wm

Also…I think this might be the first time I can’t remember my fabric sources. Has my hoarding finally reached that level?! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ I think the lighter blue I used for Cassie was from Hancock, when they were going out of business. It is an ITY. And I think my deeper color fabric was an ITY from Needle Nook, but I’m not sure on either of them!

The sale lasts through Sunday night, so don’t miss it!

Claire + Mama Claire

dsc_9445-wm

We’re on a roll with these mama and me patterns! I’m loving it! This time, it’s a quick and easy knit top with a crossover that can be worn in the front, or in the back. I love the options, and wearing the crossover in the front almost feels more conservative to me, because the low back is just so fun! This pattern is theย Claire, and Mama Claire, from Made for Mermaids.

The options include short, 3/4 or long sleeves, and either a tall or short band. It is a quick and easy sew. You can usually tell when I’ve made more than one ๐Ÿ˜‰

There are so many fabric options for this. I love my sweater knit version with the stretch lace band the best! Also, using stretch lace means one less rectangle to cut!

You will want to make these over and over, and there’s already a post on the M4M blog on how to hack this top to have a double crossover. I love everything about this pattern!

You’ll get these on sale through Sunday the 15th. Go look at the listing photos, they all look amazing!
