Best Friends Collection

This is a fun collection from Made for Mermaids, that’s releasing today!! It includes three new patterns, and two updated patterns.

Skipper is a tiered, ruffled skirt for knits or wovens, with optional built in shorties, capris, or ankle length leggings.

Stacey is a knit top with sleeve options, and lots of fun embellishment options, bib with ruffle or trim, sleeve tabs, patch pocket, and or elbow patches.

Barbie is a wide knit headband with three flowers you can add in any arrangement you like.

Hailey is a knit or woven pant pattern with ruffles at the bottom, and an optional waist ruffle. It has been updated with layers, and a new shortie length.

Rose is a knit top with ruffles on the sleeves, and different sleeve length options. This is also an updated pattern! (Also available as a baby pattern)

These are so fun to make, and all are also quick, and simple! You can go over the top with the options, or make it more simple. My bigger girl was loving the sleeve tabs, and patch pocket on Stacey, so that’s what I made, but I think my younger one will get a fancy bib on hers 🙂 All patterns come in a size range from 1/2-14.

My Skipper skirt is all woven. The floral was an old apron from a scrap box I’d been given. The middle layer is Tulle, and the top is just quilting cotton.

The blue Stacey is rayon spandex. I’ll list fabric sources at the end!

Next, I made another Stacey, this one is cotton lycra, with sleeve tabs again. I love this floral, it will be a great comfy top she will wear all the time!

And then, to go with the updated Hailey shorties, I made a Brooklyn/Riley mash out of french terry. I used the bib pattern piece from Stacey, traced around it, and added lace to the top. This is a fun little detail, that was quick and simple, and understated, but so gorgeous! The Hailey shorties are made with a matte jersey knit.

The Barbie headband is cotton lycra for the band, and some other scraps I had around for the flowers. I love this, and of course, even though my big girl is trying to grow up too fast, she still loved wearing this fun, girly headband!

These patterns are on sale for their release! Don’t miss out. I know you will love everything you create from them!!

421 Myers Headbands

I know, headbands are easy to make, easy to DIY, easy to come up with your own pattern for… I was a die hard DIY-er a couple of years ago. I drafted everything I wanted to make. I’d probably search Pinterest first, and maybe find something to use, but I did a lot of my own things too. And they mostly worked out. But it is so nice to have a full pattern, that’s been tested, with a picture tutorial to take all the guess work out of it! And now that I sew so many gifts for others, and I can’t measure them, it’s nice to have all the sizes ready for me 🙂

I’m here to share these five 5 FIVE!!! FREE headband patterns from 421 Myers Designs. She’s starting her own pdf pattern company, and is putting out some great freebies to get started!

I’ve made the wire headband, but also included are free knot headband, elastic headband with bow tie, elastic headband with tied bow, and non-slip headband patterns!

You can find them in her facebook group in the pinned post.

Now, about this wire headband. It is crazy simple. Just a little cutting, sewing, and ironing, and slip a piece of wire in, and you can go crazy with styling! These were so fun to wear, and the girls loved playing with them, long after we took these quick pics.

I’d encourage you to go check out her group, and sew up some headbands for yourself, or your bff’s new baby!

Here’s the rest of our pictures!
