I have been a fan of One Thimble from the beginning! It’s a fantastic deal to get several pdf patterns, and majorly valuable articles for the price! They make sure you get a variety, so no matter who you sew for, you’re covered!
I got to sew up a couple of the “hacks” that are featured in the new issue that’s just out now!
The Beep Beep sweatshirt appeared in an earlier issue, and I love the strip down the sleeve and side, plus the pocket. The hack outlined in this current issue shows you how to turn it into a cardigan! I love hacking things, and always plan to, but sometimes don’t ever get around to it, because I don’t have the mental energy to put into figuring it out. This is done for you here!
I used cotton lycra from Raspberry Creek Fabrics, and some French Terry I’ve had for a while for the contrast side panel.
Then I sewed the Everest Pants from Gracious Threads. This issue includes a hack for these for shorts! I made a classic error a seasoned seamstress shouldn’t make. I sewed the size I thought sounded right. I know. Plus, when I guesstimate, I always round up, so there’s more growing room. But I ended up with shorts that will be perfect next year, lol!
I snagged a pair of khakis from the donate bin, and used those, for a perfect bottom weight fabric! These are already getting lots of wear from him, wrong size and all!
