The Holiday Blog Tour with SLPCo

The Holiday Blog Tour with Simple Life Patterns Company is one of my favorite every year. Maybe it’s the combination of the gorgeous, girly patterns, with the opportunity to sew up some luscious velvet, and lace. But it’s a signal to get my holiday sewing done, and I love sharing a bit with you!

I used one favorite, and one new pattern to me!

The Leah wrap top is designed for woven, but I’m all about the knit, and I knew my tween would wear it so much more this way! I used a tiny dotted mesh from So Sew English fabrics, which is a cute look, layered with a cami.

I didn’t make any alterations to the pattern due to the knit, but I did make some alterations to the construction. I didn’t use any binding to finish the edges. I just serged, and turned under 3’8″ all the way around.

I love the look of the bishop sleeve, so I widened the pattern slightly and put in some elastic at the wrist.

All together I love this look so much! Even worn with jeans, which I can’t get her out of, it’s a cute look for a party!

Then I made the Aria. To turn up the glam, I used a stunning stretch velvet in a gorgeous deep print from So Sew English.

Then I cut 2 skirts, cut them open, sewed them together, and gathered to fit the waist. Extra. Twirl. You can’t ever say no to that!

The bow back is the stunning detail. I never get tired of this pattern!

There is a HUGE site-wide sale going on now. You need to stock up! This is the biggest discount they ever do, and I know it, because I’ve watched them from the beginning!! The sale runs from 11/11-11/25 and EXCLUDES svg cut files. Use code: slpcorocks for 40% off!
