Pudding Pants

Joggers have been all the rage in the sewing world for a few years. They’re comfortable to wear, generally a slimmer fit than sweat pants, so they’re more acceptable as “real clothes” and they fit in with the athlesiure trend. I’ve sewn several versions of joggers for myself, and my kids, and I’m here with another great pattern today! These are called the Pudding pants, and if that doesn’t sell you on the pattern, it should. Haha! I love Sew Chibi designs. She makes fun clothes, and I was privileged to sew with her in the same season for Project Run & Play!

The Pudding Pants start at size 12/18 months, and go to size 15/16 years! I love the big size range, since my kids just about span the whole thing. There are three hem options, rolled cuff, contrast cuff, or standard hem. They have optional color blocking, with pockets set into the seam of the color block. Optional solid version, or optional front pin tucking too!

I chose to use a grey French terry for these, and used the reverse side of the fabric for my contrasting pieces. I love the rolled hem on this version, because it shows the reverse side of the fabric again, and it’s easy. Ha!

These went together really simply. The tutorial is clear and thorough, and the he fits perfectly into his measured size!

This is a great unisex pattern, but I don’t sew as much for my boys, so I used this opportunity to sew for my three year old. He loves getting new clothes, and loves taking the pictures too 🙂

This is one of the latest patterns to hit the Project Run & Play shop. There are six new ones this week, and you can grab them on sale! There’s also a giveaway for a chance to win all six of them on the PRP blog, hop over there to enter, AND I have a copy of the Pudding pants to give away to one of you!

Leave a comment on this post to be entered to win. You can tell me anything, but I’d love to hear what you’re thinking of sewing next. 🙂 I’ll choose a random winner on Monday, 9/15.

  2. A Jolly Roger Raglan is next up on my list. I think. There’s also a zipper that needs to be put in and a Christmas present for my Mom.

  3. I love these joggers that you sewed! My 8 & 6 year olds would love them. Currently, I’m shopping for a pattern to make myself a hoodie sweater tunic out of fleece, perfect for fall!
