I am on a sewing kick for my older girl! I said she’s been needing dresses, and this pattern is so perfect for her! This one is a new release from Made for Mermaids. I am in LOVE with this style, and I didn’t make it with long sleeves for winter, because the cut-outs aren’t seasonally appropriate, and I knew she would want to wear it instantly. That was definitely true. Haha! There was NO argument about taking pictures on a Sunday morning, because then she could wear it to church that morning!
This is the new Sierra pattern, and it’s packed full of options, and hacks. Included in the pattern are:
The bodice has a v-neck, and a center seam, which makes it fun for playing with stripes, and the back bodice is also a v-neck with seam. I made my first version in dress length, with the flutter sleeves, and side cut outs. It’s a perfectly fun, girly dress for my daughter, and the style and fabric is so her!
The sizes included are 1/2-14, and there is a women’s version too! You will want to make all the Sierras, and check out the hacks on the Made for Mermaids blog. They always show you plenty of extra ways to mash and modify the pattern, making tons more looks!
If you haven’t heard, Made for Mermaids and Patterns for Pirates started a joint sew-a-long group, and they’ll be taking turns hosting a SAL of one of their patterns each month! Next up is Sierra, so grab your copy on sale now, and go join! There will be even more hacks shared for the SAL!
