Swallowtail Top

This is the Swallowtail Top from Lil Luxe Collection. I have to say that I finished this top in a very short time frame. I didn’t time myself, because there’s always interruptions, but I started cutting it out late afternoon, and pulled it off the sewing machine at 7:30pm. WHILE single parenting four kids, feeding them supper, etc…

We raced out to get pictures after that, before the light was gone. Isn’t it a gorgeous top on a gorgeous girl?

The bodice is fully enclosed, the skirt is sewn with French seams, and all hems are turned under twice. It’s as beautiful inside as it is outside. And, it’s still a simple sew!

There are also dress and maxi lengths included in this pattern. I think it’s sweet, and bold at the same time. Perfect. Release price is 30% off, so pick it up now!

Just in case you thought Daphne was awesome enough by itself, I’m here to show you my romper hack to it!! 🙂 🙂 I posted a tutorial over on the Made for Mermaids blog, go read it here!

I love love love the bodice of Daphne, turn it into a romper and my daughter goes crazy! She loves clothes, more than I do, I think, and she’s desperate for me to make her all the rompers. This one has the added bonus of being super easy for potty breaks. Check out the photos, and be sure to grab Daphne while it’s still on sale!

Daphne+Mama Daphne

Two posts in a row with me in it 😁😁 Hi guys!!! This is Daphne, and Mama Daphne, the newest patterns from Made for Mermaids. And I might say this every time, but I THINK THESE PATTERNS ARE THE BOMB DIGGITY! And I probably just showed that I’m totally not hip, and out of touch with the youth by saying that. But oh well 🙂

Off the shoulder is a huge trend right now. I see it everywhere! Not to mention, it’s so 70’s and I love that! And it’s just a little different than your average top or dress. So much love for this style!

Daphne has top, dress, and maxi length options, optional shoulder ties, and full ruffle, or shoulder flutters. Mama Daphne, has top, dress, and maxi lengths, optional shoulder ties, full ruffle, or shoulder flutters, or three sleeve length options. Optional elastic at the end of the sleeves adds even more options. I made the dress length Daphne with ruffle out of rayon challis for my daughter, and a short sleeve Mama Daphne out of matte jersey knit for me.

On sale for $7 individually, or bundled together for some Mama and Me styles for $10!!! Don’t miss this pattern!!!

Essential Tank

I know, I know, I said Essential Tank, and then, BAM, it’s a dress! But I don’t know of any patterns that are packed more full of options than Patterns for Pirates. SO, yes, it’s a tank, but you can make this tank shirt length, tunic length, dress length, curved hemline, or maxi length. On the straps, you can make them straight or racerback. You can finish the openings with bands or binding. And there’s an optional front thigh, or center back slit on the maxi. Options. 🙂

I love a front slit, so this was an obvious version for me to sew. I wasn’t sure this would be flattering, since it’s a fairly slim fit, but I totally love it, and will wear it in real life! 🙂 There’s just enough ease to not be tight anywhere from the waist down, and that’s amazing!

Pattern details: sizes XXS-PLus3X. Made for knits, designed to be fitted at the bust, and semi-fitted through the waist and hips. It will be on sale for $7.50 with no code needed! Pick it up and start adding this comfy top/dress to your summer wardrobe!

This is Juliette (the dress) on Jade (the girl) I loved making this dress from Made for Mermaids’ pattern, and Jade’s design. We went shopping together so she could pick out the fabric, and it’s just perfect!

Of course, maxi length circle skirt for this size is a lot of fabric, and a lot of ruffles, but really this pattern is so simple, and basic. I think anyone with a little patience can do it 😉

We had a really quick mini photo shoot. I love the colors of the graffiti, and Jade’s a pro in front of the camera…her mom’s a photographer!

Go check out the pattern here, and check out the rest of our photos below…
